PJ Harvey has won Uncut Music Award
Nov 11, 2011PJ Harvey received 2011's Uncut Music Award for her last studio effort Let England Shake. Created by Uncut magazine, this annual prize is given to the British acts chosen by a panel of judges, who represent different spheres of music industry – singers, producers, songwriters and others.
After receiving the award PJ Harvey said: "I'm very pleased to get the Uncut Music Award 2011, and it strengthens my desire to carry on pursuing the avenues of work I have been for the last 20 years. It strengthens my conviction to always trust my instincts and to continue to do work of meaning and importance, in some way".
The list of nominees also featured Radiohead's King Of Limbs, Bon Iver's eponymous record and others.
Uncut Music Award was given for the fourth time this year. Previous winners are Fleet Foxes, Tinariwen and Paul Weller.
