Jan 01, 2010
A special collection of stamps, titled Classic Album Covers, was unveiled in Britain. It features 10 stamps with a covers of classic rock album on them. The list of used images includes art for The Division Bell by Pink Floyd, Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones, A Rush Of Blood To The Head by Coldplay and others.

A special exhibition devoted to release of this collection will work in London during January. It was opened by Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, who said about the cover of the album Led Zeppelin IV: «Almost 40 years after the album came out, nobody knows the old man who featured on the cover, nor the artist who painted him - that sort of sums up what we wanted to achieve with the album cover, which has remained both anonymous and enigmatic at the same time».

According to the reports, the shortlist of the albums was bigger, but some sleeves were deemed inappropriate because images were too dark.
