Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones slammed Rock Band

Ex-The Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman has criticized the release of The Beatles: Rock Band. A famous musician, who was playing in The Rolling Stones for 30 years, said that games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero have improper effect on children.

«They encourage kids not to learn, that's the trouble. It makes less and less people dedicated to really get down and learn an instrument. I think is a pity», said he.

Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason agreed with him: «It irritates me having watched my kids do it - if they spent as much time practicing the guitar as learning how to press the buttons they'd be damn good by now».

Musicians joined Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and Jack White, who have criticized Rock Band and Guitar Hero earlier. Page claimed that people can never learn to play music instruments through Guitar Hero and other videogames. «You think of the drum part that John Bonahm did on Led Zeppelin's first track on the first album Good Times Bad Times. How many drummers in the world can play that part, let alone on Christmas morning?» said he.

Jack White, in his turn, claimed that he was not considering video games as a proper way for people to be exposed to music. «It's depressing to have a label come and tell you that Guitar Hero is how kids are learning about music and experiencing music. I do not try to dictate which format people should get their music in, but if you have to be in a video game to get in front of them, that's a little sad», said he.
