Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz denied reports that his new solo project Black Cards would be a reggae band. In his interview last week Wentz said that Black Cards' debut album would feature reggae music. However, recently singer explained that he was misunderstood.

According to his words, reggae is only one of music genres that influenced his "global" album.

"I think it came off as though it was gonna be a reggae band ... that's not true. There are a few songs that have more of a reggae swing to the beat. I think I meant that I'm interested in making global music. I like the idea of art transcending cultures and borders", said he.

Earlier Pete Wentz also claimed that Fall Out Boy's fans should try his new band. "If it's not for you then we understand. But if you enjoy it, keep coming back", said he.

Last year Fall Out Boy members announced that they would take an "indefinite break" from all kinds of band duties. According to their spokesperson, none of the four band's members are going to work on music at that time.

The band was formed in 2001 and reached mainstream success with its third album From Under The Cork Tree in 2003. Fall Out Boy's last to date record Folie A Deux was released in 2008. Greatest hits album Believers Never Die is set to hit the stores on November 30.
