Performers for MTV Video Music Awards 2009 announced

Green Day and Pink were included in the list of artists set to perform on this year’s MTV Video Music Awards ceremony. The event itself will take place on September 13 in New York City's Radio City Music Hall.

They will be joined by Muse, who promised to premiere new single Uprising at the ceremony. American country singer Taylor Swift will also take part in the event to perform her recent single You Belong With Me. More participants will be announced later.

MTV Video Music Awards 2009 will be hosted by comedian Russell Brand for the second year in a row.
