Pearl Jam are working on a new album

Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament claimed that the band is working on a new studio effort. Musician revealed that the album is "over halfway through", adding that there are plans to finish it in early 2012.

According to his words, Pearl Jam were working in Seattle so far, but the rest of the album will be recorded in Los Angeles.

"We made the bulk of our records in Seattle, so it's just great to get out of Seattle for me. Everybody leaves all their stuff at home and you just go down for 12 days and it's all you do", claimed he.

Upcoming album will be Pearl Jam's tenth studio effort. Previous one, titled Backspacer, hit the stores in 2009.
