Oasis were "on the wrong foot" with America

Former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher spoke about the reasons why the band has never achieved huge commercial success in USA. He suggested that they were "on the wrong foot" with United States, partly because they had unsuitable kind of frontman, whom Noel compared to Sex Pistols' Johnny Rotten.

He also said that Oasis never felt sorry about it. "I think we got off on the wrong foot with America. Four tours in a row were either never started or never finished. We didn't have a frontman like Bono or Chris Martin. We had a different kind of frontman who was like Johnny Rotten. But I don't think anybody in Oasis would look back it with any regret", said Noel.

Recently former Oasis singer Liam Gallagher has topped the list of the best rock frontmen of all time, based on the poll by British radio station XFM. Beady Eye leader has beaten Queen's Freddie Mercury, who became second, and Depeche Mode's Dave Gahan, who finished on the third place.

The fourth and fifth places were given to Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and Muse's Matt Bellamy respectively.
