PRS Music – the organization that collects royalties for songwriters – has officially named Oasis the most listened britpop band in the last 14 years. According to the PRS Music, there are two top bands in this genre, Blur and Oasis, but Gallaher brothers are far more popular.

Based on PRS' research, the Top-5 of the most listened britpop albums features two records by Blur and three by Oasis. At the same time, Gallaher’s album Wonderwall has reached the first place with 68%, while Blur’s best disk Country House scored only 10% and became third.

The second place was taken by Oasis’ Roll With It (12%), which has lost UK Number One single spot to Country House 14 years ago.

«These new figures showing that despite Blur winning the original battle, Oasis wins long-term by number of plays. However with both bands still working and their music being widely played the battle continues», said PRS Music’s chief executive Steve Porter.

A top-5 britpop album also features Some Might Say by Oasis and Beetlebum by Blur.
