Noel Gallagher named new band after Jefferson Airplane
Aug 08, 2011Former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher revealed why he have decided to name his new band Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. According to his words, he was inspired by the track High Flying Bird from Jefferson Airplane's album Early Flight, released in 1974.
"That name High Flying Bird jumped out. I had a bit of a eureka moment, so I wrote it down. I thought, that looks really cool. I doesn't mean anything", claimed Noel.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds are set to release new album The Death Of You And Me soon. The effort has been produced by Noel Gallagher himself and his friend Dave Sardy, who is known for working with Primal Scream, Devo, Red Hot Chili Peppers and other notable acts.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds features session musicians who earlier collaborated with such artists as The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder and Elton John.
