Nicki Minaj named Avril Lavigne among her favorite artists

Nicki Minaj – who is currently on tour in support of her debut album Pink Friday – revealed the list of artists she preferred to listen on the road. According to the singer, it features Avril Lavigne, as well as Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Kanye West and others.

"I listen to Beyonce, I listen to Rihanna, I listen to Kanye, and of course Lil Wayne. Of course Drake. I listen to a lot of gospel music. I listen to Cyndi Lauper, Avril Lavigne… I just bought a whole bunch of reggae like Mavado and Beenie Man", claimed she.

Earlier Nicki Minaj praised Beyonce saying that she has always admired her and her achievements. Singer said that Beyonce "defies greatness", adding that she showed an example to follow for all women.

She also has has praised Kanye West for being her mentor. Singer claimed that rapper has taught her many useful things about modern scene, and helped her with the debut album Pink Friday that was released last month.

"When it came to me putting my album out, I was like "I can't have an album without Kanye, he has to be a part of it". He's become my mentor, he gives me advice, he hits me", said she.
