New Rock Band game is set to be released this winter

Harmonix videogame studio announced that it has started the work on the new installment in its Rock Band series. Rock Band 3 is set to hit the stores this winter. According to the official statement, it will be a «revolution» in music videogames genre.

«Harmonix is developing Rock Band 3 for worldwide release this holiday season! The game, which will be published by MTV Games and distributed by Electronic Arts, will innovate and revolutionise the music genre once again», says the official message.

Rock Band series allows players to simulate the performance of music by playing on controllers imitating music instruments. Rock Band was released in 2007, followed by Rock Band 2 in 2008 and The Beatles: Rock Band in 2009. Green Day: Rock Band is set to hit the stores this year.

At the same time, four songs from Lady Gaga’s album The Fame: Monster have recently become available for Rock Band 2. Fans can perform her tracks Bad Romance, Just Dance, Monster and Poker Face – it’s the singer’s first «appearance» in popular game series.
