New Primal Scream album to be "based on one chord"

Jan 01, 2012
Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie revealed some details about the band's next record. According to the singer, it will be highly influenced by their 1991's album Screamadelica that was reissued this year. He also stated that the band's tenth studio effort will be "based on one chord".

"The sense of space in the Screamadelica material has had a big influence on the arrangements…. It is sounding like a psychedelic record and is based around one chord", claimed he.

Upcoming album will be recorded without Primal Scream bassist Mani, who has left the band to join reformed The Stone Roses.

"Mani has left the band - that's the situation. He has gone and joined The Stone Roses. That's cool. He had been wanting to do it for years. I'll go and see them live - The Stones Roses are a great band", claimed Gillespie.

Primal Scream released their last studio effort Beautiful Future in 2008.
