New Aerosmith album to be "raw"

Sep 09, 2011
American producer Jack Douglas – who is working on Aerosmith' new album – revealed some details about upcoming record. According to his words, it will be close to the band's early efforts, such as Get Your Wings or Toys In The Attic.

At the same time, he pointed that the album will be "nasty" and "raw": "For those who are asking, this album will be raw, nasty, tough rock with a good deal of the old Aerosmith".

Douglas also claimed that the record would not be released until 2012: "The new album should be out around May 2012. I know that's a long wait, but after the South American tour and Japan in October, November and December, we will just get back to work on it in mid-January".

Earlier Aerosmith's frontman Steven Tyler claimed that he already had started the work on the new songs together with Joe Perry.

"I sent Joe a bunch of songs and he sent me a bunch of licks, we've e-mailed back and forth with each other. All I need is a few good licks. That's the way Walk This Way was written, one of Joe Perry's licks and I grabbed the ball and ran with it, and that's all it takes sometimes", said Steven Tyler.

Aerosmith's last studio effort, titled Honkin' On Bobo, was released in 2004.
