My Chemical Romance revealed some more details about new album
Nov 11, 2009My Chemical Romance announced some details about their upcoming fourth album. According to the singer Gerard Way, it was influenced by such artists as Iggy Pop and MC5.
«We wanted to harness everything that's great about this band into shorter songs, almost protopunk», said Way.
He also claimed that the first single from the album would be the song titled Trans Am.
Earlier Way claimed that My Chemical Romance has got an opportunity to spend unusually much time on this record.
«Everything is taking so much longer, in a really great way. We’ve never been able to go through the songs like this and get things as great as we possibly can. «It’s always been like: «You’ve got three months to record and two weeks to mix, then you’re back on an airplane to go tour again». This time, we afforded ourselves the luxury of exploring every song», said he.
Yet-untitled record will be released next year. Previous album by My Chemical Romance, titled The Black Parade, hit the stores in 2006.
