Movie about John Lennon's childhood nominated for BAFTA
Jan 01, 2010Nowhere Boy movie, which tells about childhood and adolescence of John Lennon, was nominated for two BAFTA cinematographic awards. The film is based on the book Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon, written by Julia Baird, sister of The Beatles’ member. Movie features soundtrack by British electronic music group Goldfrapp.
Nowhere Boy itself was nominated in Outstanding British Film category, while its director Sam Taylor-Wood may be awarded with Outstanding Debut By British Writer, Director Or Producer prize.
Meanwhile, movie Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, which tells about the life of famous rock singer Ian Dury, can also win one award – Andy Serkis, who portrays Dury, was nominated in Leading Actor category.
The ceremony itself it set to take place on February 21 in London.
