Mick Jagger is proud of Coldplay’s success
Feb 02, 2009The Rolling Stones’s frontman Mick Jagger claimed that British music is living one of the most fruitful times in its history. Famous rock-star pointed that British musicians has achieved a lot of success at the international scene.
He mentioned 16 honors won by Great Britain’s musicians at the recent Grammy Awards ceremony, including two prizes for Coldplay – Best Rock Album Award for Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends and Song Of The Year for Viva La Vida.
Also, Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends was named 2008’s biggest selling record worldwide with 6.8 million copies sold.
«With British acts doing so well it’s proving to be a great period for home-grown talent right now. And what is so refreshing is the different styles that have been recognised — Coldplay, Duffy, Adele and Radiohead make up an eclectic bunch, proving there’s a lot of fresh British talent out there», said Jagger.
