Michael Jackson London tribute concerts were delayed
Aug 08, 2009Two Michael Jackson tribute concerts set to take place in London were postponed. Originally, shows were planned to be held on August 29 and 30, at the O2 Arena – the same place where Michael Jackson was going to perform his comeback concerts. But both gigs were abandoned because organizers failed to finalize the line-up for the shows.
A source told The Times newspaper: «If they ever happen, it will not be until next year. We didn’t want to rush out something that was sub-standard – we would rather wait until we have got the best possible people».
Earlier this month, Justin Timberlake and Leona Lewis were named as the possible performers for the show.
Two days ago, World Awards Media GmbH promotion company announced a special one-off tribute concert to Michael Jackson, scheduled to take place in September. The concert will take place in Vienna, on a stage in front of the famous Schoenbrunn Palace. According to the reports, about 85,000 tickets for the show will go on sale.
