Metallica unveiled an extract from Lulu

Metallica have posted online a "preview" for their new album Lulu, recorded in collaboration with Lou Reed. 90-second track is an extract from the composition The View, which is set to be the first single from upcoming effort.

Metallica frontman James Hetfield claimed that this fragment represents the sound of the record "perfectly".

Lulu consists of the covers on the songs Reed has written for the musical Lulu, which is based on the plays by German writer Frank Wedekind.

Speaking about the album, Lou Reed said: "It maybe the best thing done by anyone, ever. It could create another planetary system. I'm not joking, and I'm not being egotistical".
