Metallica to perform in jail
Dec 12, 2011Metallica announced that next summer they will perform solo gig in a former Danish prison for criminals serving long sentences. The concert will take place in June 2012 in the Statsfængsel jail. Metallica also revealed that set-list for the show will feature all tracks from their eponymous studio effort, also known as The Black Album.
In 2003 Metallica filmed music video for their St. Anger single at San Quentin State Prison in California, and later performed a gig to its inmates.
Metallica – who recently recorded an album Lulu together with Lou Reed – have already begun working on their next studio effort. According to guitarist Rob Trujillo, they have nearly finished several songs. Trujillo also revealed that the band is accompanied by famous producer Rick Rubin.
"We've got a couple of new songs we have been working on the past couple of weeks. The writing process for the new Metallica album has begun. We've been in the studio with Rick Rubin, working on a couple of things, and we're going to be recording during the most of next year", said guitarist.
