Metallica may be awarded for their tatoos

Metallica, Green Day and Eminem were nominated for the Inked True Color Awards, which benefits celebrities with tattoos, as well as tattoo makers. They will compete in Best Band/Artist category together with Slayer, Linkin Park, Lil Wayne, Gallows, Fall Out Boy and Good Charlotte.

The awards ceremony will take place in Las Vegas on June 3. It will be followed by a concert – however, it is unknown if nominated artists will perform.

Recently Metallica confirmed reports that they are set to make their own movie. According to the official statement on the band's web site, it will be 3D action film. The work on it will start this summer, while premiere is set to take place next year.

Upcoming movie will be directed by Hungarian filmmaker Nimrod Antal, who is known for the 2010's blockbuster Predators. Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said that he is a fan of Antal's debut comedy-thriller movie Kontroll, showed up at Cannes in 2004.
