Metallica are afraid of problems with the Euro

Metallica claimed that the decision to perform a huge European tour next year was caused by unstable situation with the Euro. The band announced its plans just after finishing another tour this year – according to manager Cliff Burnstein, they want to perform as many concerts as possible before European Union will suffer from economic crisis.

"I'm not an economist, but I have a degree, so it helps. You have to ask yourself, what's the best time to be doing what, when and where. Over the next few years, the dollar will be stronger and the euro weaker, and if that's the case, we want to take advantage of that by playing more of these European shows now, because they will be more profitable for us", claimed he.

Recently etallica announced that next summer they will perform solo gig in a former Danish prison for criminals serving long sentences. The concert will take place in June 2012 in the Statsfængsel jail. Metallica also revealed that set-list for the show will feature all tracks from their eponymous studio effort, also known as The Black Album.

In 2003 Metallica filmed music video for their St. Anger single at San Quentin State Prison in California, and later performed a gig to its inmates.
