McCartney’s charity concert was nearly cancelled
Apr 04, 2008Sir Paul McCartney's charity concert in Liverpool was in danger of cancellation until a last minute deal was reached with his company. Liverpool City Council agreed to pay £1.7 million. Not agreeing the deal «was likely to result in the concert being cancelled».
All 25,000 tickets for the event were already sold, and further 11,000 will soon become available. Sir Paul will not make any money from the concert, billed as a Capital of Culture highlight.
