Manic Street Preachers revealed that they have decided to take a two-years break in performing live. The band has made this announcement during its concert at London's O2 Arena last Saturday, December 17.

After playing A Design For Life – the final song in their set list – Manic Street Preachers' frontman Nicky Wire told the audience: "Thank you for coming out tonight. Merry Christmas. Well see you back in two years time hopefully".

The gig saw the band joined by The Cardigans' singer Nina Persson and Super Furry Animals' frontman Gruff Rhys.

Manic Street Preachers released their last to date album Postcards From A Young Man in 2010.
