Madonna became the most played artist of the decade in Britain

Madonna has topped the chart of the most played artists in the 21st century in Britain. The list is based on the special research by PPL agency, which compiled data from radio stations and TV channels. It also incorporated public performances in pubs, clubs, restaurants and other venues.

Madonna has beaten The Beatles, who became second, and Robbie Williams, who has got the third place. Authors of the research point that the chart features artists of different genres, from pop music (ABBA) to rock (Coldplay).

They also say that the list includes persons representing different time, from the fifties (Elvis Presley) or the seventies (Queen) to the nineties (Take That) and the beginning of 21st century (Sugababes).

Madonna’s last to date record Hard Candy hit the stores in April 2008 and was produced by Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Pharrell Williams and Kanye West.
