Lil' Wayne's new record will not be a rock album
Apr 04, 2009US rapper Bryan Williams, also known as Birdman, claimed that Lil' Wayne's upcoming record Rebirth will not be a rock album as it was announced earlier. Lil' Wayne previously said that after recording highly successful Tha Carter III he wanted to sidestep from hip-hop and make a record in a different genre.
However, Williams, who is an owner of Wayne's label Cash Money Records, said that fans «misunderstood» the rapper. «When you speak about a rock record, you think he's got a guitar and everything, but it's not that. It's going to be some of those types of beats, but it's just great music», said he.
Williams added: «He can rap, he can sing, he's just an artist. I don't think no one will ever be greater than Wayne because I don't think no one puts in the time or the quality».
