Lil' Wayne named release date for Tha Carter IV
Oct 10, 2009Last week Lil' Wayne announced that The Rebirth could be released as a double album, accompanied with an album All-Star by Young Money – the band which was signed to Lil' Wayne’s own record-label. However, the official statement denies this information.
It says: «Tha Carter IV is out December, we won't release The Rebirth as a double CD like people are saying. Both will be out before 2010. We're looking to take over the game completely, flood the market. The Grammy's are ours next year».
The Rebirth was expected to be released earlier and become Lil’ Wayne’s first ever rock-album. According to Wayne’s friend, hip hop star Drake, Wayne was inspired to change direction by Kanye West who prefered singing to rapping on his latest album 808s And Heartbreak.
Rapper’s previous album Tha Carter III was released in June 2008 and was sold over one million copies in a week in the US.
