Lil' Wayne faces one year jail term
Oct 10, 2009Lil' Wayne has pleaded guilty to attempted gun possession. The rapper made this claim during yesterday’s hearing of his case in New York court. Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, was arrested in July 2007, when police found a .40 caliber semi-automatic loaded handgun in his car.
Earlier Lil' Wayne claimed he was not guilty, but during the hearing on Tuesday, October 22, he confessed that this gun belonged to him. Now rapper may face one year in jail. However, if the judges decide to put him in prison, he will remain free on bail until February next year, when he will be sentenced.
Lil' Wayne has recently announced that his highly anticipated album Tha Carter IV will hit the stores in December. It was also said that another long-awaited album by Lil' Wayne – The Rebirth – would be released until 2010.
Rapper’s previous album Tha Carter III was released in June 2008 and was sold over one million copies in a week in the US.
