Lebanese authorities canceled the ban of Lady GaGa

Jun 06, 2011
The Lebanese government has canceled the ban of new Lady GaGa's album Born This Way. Last week it has been denied from being sold in the country. Local General Secretary Department considered the lyrics from the record to be "offensive to Christianity".

However, recently it was announced that the authorities have decided to lift the ban. "Born This Way CD has received approval for entry and distribution in Lebanon", says the official statement.

The reason behind the cancellation of the ban was not revealed – however, some believe that it happened due to massive protests of Lady GaGa's fans.

Another Lady GaGa's single, Born This Way, was in its turn banned in Malaysia for "promoting homosexuality".

Born This Way was sold 1.11 million copies in its first week in the United States only. It is the best result since 50 Cent's The Massacre (1.14 million) that hit the stores in 2005.
