Lady GaGa sets another Internet record

Mar 03, 2011
Lady GaGa has become the first person to have more than 9 million followers on Twitter. The singer has achieved this mark yesterday, on Sunday, March 27. She has overtaken both Justin Biber and Britney Spears, who were named as the persons most likely to set the record. Both of them have about 8.3 million followers now.

Lady GaGa has created her account on Twitter only in 2008 – later than her opponents.

Singer already thanked her fans, saying that their support "gives her an inspiration to work further".

Earlier this month it was said that Lady GaGa has become the first artist ever to claim over 20 million digital singles sales. According to RIAA – an organization that represents the recording industry distributors in the US – this milestone was achieved earlier this week.

It was also announced that Lady GaGa's debut effort The Fame has become the biggest downloaded album. It was sold more than 250,000 times through online services. However, Kings Of Leon with Only By The Night and Florence And The Machine with Lungs are close to her.

Singer is set to release new album Born This Way in May.
