Lady GaGa and Bono will record a song to benefit Haiti people
Feb 02, 2010Lady GaGa, Jennifer Hudson and U2 singer Bono are among artists set to record another charity single for victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Together they will perform new version of famous song We Are The World, written by Lionel Richie, Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson.
Usher and Alicia Keys were also named among artists set to take part in the recording. Rumors say that the single is planed to feature more than 100 singers.
Song We Are The World was written and recorded in 1985 to raise money for starving people in Africa. Original version features such artists as Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Tina Turner, Billy Joel, Michael Jackson himself and others.
Earlier, producer Simon Cowell announced plans to record cover on REM’s song Everybody Hurts to raise money for Haiti. The list of artists who contributed their vocals for the track features Take That, Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, JLS, Alexandra Burke, James Blunt and Joe McElderry.
