Kurt Cobain will appear in Guitar Hero videogame

Activision confirmed that Kurt Cobain was included as a playable character in Guitar Hero 5, the latest installment in famous videogame series. Late Nirvana singer has joined the list of digital stars which also features Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, Garbage singer Shirley Manson and Matt Bellamy of Muse.

Activision received an agreement from Cobain’s wife Cortney Love and all Nirvana members to use late singer’s image in the game.

It was also announced that new additions for the videogame’s tracklist included tracks by Blur, Kings Of Leon and Queens Of The Stone Age. Guitar Hero 5 will also feature two songs by Nirvana, Smells Like Teen Spirit and Lithium, as well as compositions by Stevie Wonder, Dire Straits, Muse and other musicians.

Guitar Hero 5 is set to be released on September 1 for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360. Like the previous title, Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar Hero 5 is set towards playing in a four-person band, giving the opportunity to play lead and bass guitar, drums and vocals.
