Kasabian predict "drought" of rock music

Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan said that that there is a "drought" of rock'n'roll bands right now, which will only expand through the time. He claimed that the music industry is overrun by pop singers and that Kasabian are one of the few bands that still promote alternative scene.

"There's a rock 'n' roll drought at the moment, so I'm glad we're here. People are frightened of making records that sound good on the radio", said he.

Earlier Kasabian guitarist Serge Pizzorno claimed that the main problem of modern rock bands is their inability to cross boundaries. He urged young musicians to experiment, adding that it is how Kasabian achieved their success.

"Bands need that bit extra in the current chart climate. You should be insane – without ruining the great song you should have written. The Beatles' Strawberry Fields Forever has a superb melody, but the recording sounds like pure experimentation. Pushing boundaries is what rock is lacking", claimed he.

Kasabian are currently on tour in support of their last studio effort Velociraptor!
