Kasabian have set up new record

Sep 09, 2011
New Kasabian studio effort Velociraptor! have topped UK sales chart for the last week. The band is now the first and only British act whose first three records have finished on the first place of the charts in their debut weeks.

Velociraptor! followed the tradition set by Empire (2007) and West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum (2010).

Kasabian knocked Ed Sheeran and his debut album + to the second place. The third position belongs to Adele with 21, followed by Joe McElderry's Classic and Tony Bennett's Duets II (which features a collaboration with Amy Winehouse recorded shortly before her death).

Earlier Kasabian members claimed that they consider the band's new album Velociraptor! to be their best studio effort so far. They also claimed that upcoming record will become a surprise for their fans.

Kasabian singer Tom Meighan said: "It is going to surprise some people. We've never had an album with massive anthems on. I know it's going to be massive and if I'm wrong cut my head off".

Guitarist Serge Pizzorno added: "Altogether it's the best one yet. Trust me".
