Earlier this week US media reported that musician was going to quit Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, according to Frusciante, he did it a year ago.
«When I quit the band, over a year ago, we were on an indefinite hiatus. There was no drama or anger involved, and the other guys were very understanding. I really love the band and what we did. I understand and value that my work with them means a lot to many people, but I have to follow my interests», said he. In May 2008 the band’s frontman Anthony Kiedis revealed that the band members have decided to have no involvement in the band for unknown period. The band has reunited this autumn to record new album. Frusciante said he would concentrate on solo career. He has already recorded ten studio albums, the last one, The Empyrean, was released in January 2009. Red Hot Chili Peppers’ last to date studio record Stadium Arcadium hit the stores in 2006.
