Jay-Z will produce Broadway musical

Jay-Z announced that he has decided to produce upcoming musical Fela! which was set to be premiered on Broadway this month. The production is devoted to the late Nigerian multi-instrumentalist Fela Kuti, who is known as the founder of afrobeat genre. Also famous for his political activism, Kuti died in 1997.

There are rumors that Jay-Z is also the main investor for the production, although they were not yet confirmed by rapper himself.

Jay-Z is currently on tour in support of his recently released album The Blueprint 3. He is also set to release compilation album The Blueprint Trilogy later this year.
