Jay-Z took an interest in modern art

Jay-Z, who headlined Glastonbury festival on the June 28, has revealed that he recently had taken an interest in the art world and has started collecting Damien Hirst artworks. «I'm into art now. I have already purchased a painting by Hirst», he said in his interview to BBC.

Damien Hirst is an English artist and the most prominent member of the group that has been dubbed «Young British Artists». His painting Beat Life And Cheat Death was inspired by Jay-Z’s album American Gangster. At the same time, Jay-Z used Hirst's diamond encrusted skull in the visuals during his headlining set at Glastonbury.
