NEWS26.10.2007 Jay-Z gives a preview of his new album Raper Jay-Z visited VH1 Storytellers TV-show and performed several tracks from his new album American Gangster. He also said that his new disk was inspired by the film of the same name and tells the story about drugs.
Among the new songs he previewed were Pray, Dreamin, Party Life and another – all about drug addiction. That is because Jay-Z drew inspiration from the upcoming film American Gangster, chronicles of the rise and fall of notorious Harlem drug lord Frank Lucas. Raper said that watching the film made him reflect on his own drug-slinging days and the dangers of that lifestyle. Also Jay-Z said that his album (set to realese on November 6) is a story from beginning to end – that is something he thinks too many rap discs lack too many rap discs lack.
