Hot Chip to take part in charity concert

May 05, 2012
Hot Chip were named among musicians set to take part in Big Star tribute concert. They will perform several songs by US 70's rock band. The show is also set to feature former REM guitarist Mike Mills, Brendan Benson of The Raconteurs, I Am Kloot, Teenage Fanclub and others.

Titled Big Star Third, the show is set to take place in London in the end of May. All money raised through the concert will be donated to several charity organizations.

Big Star formed in 1971 and released three albums – #1 Record (1972), Radio City (1974), Sister Lovers (recorded also in 1974, shortly before the band has split up; hit the stores only in 1978). Although they did not reach huge commercial success, they are considered to be one of founders of alternative rock.
