Guitar Hero 3 is more popular than music services
Jan 01, 2008Activision, the publisher of the Guitar Hero 3, announced that it has sold 5 million new songs for the game via download. It began adding downloadable content in early November. By comparison, big online shops and music services usually sell one million songs during four months.
Rock Band, the rival of Guitar Hero 3, published by MTV Networks, archived the result of 2.5 million additional songs sold. «We live in a rough time around music where our audience struggles to pay $20 for a CD but don't hesitate to pay $50 for a game», said one of the MTV presidents Van Toffler.
