Green Day will become heroes of their own videogame

Green Day are set to become the main characters of their own Rock Band videogame title. Like with The Beatles: Rock Band earlier, upcoming game will allow players to follow the band’s career from the start till current moment, and «perform» all important concerts in Green Day’s history.

«We've worked with the Rock Band team in the past year to enable our fans to play tracks from our last album 21st Century Breakdown, and we're excited to now be working on a game spanning our entire career», said Green Day’s fronman Billie Joe Armstrong.

Green Day: Rock Band is set to be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and Wii in 2010.

Earlier this year U2 claimed that they also were in talks with MTV to have their own Rock Band title.
