Green Day finished new album
Apr 04, 2009Green Day announced that they have finally completed recording of their new album 21st Century Breakdown. As previously reported, it would be a concept record telling the story of a young couple called Christian and Gloria.
The album will feature such songs as East Jesus Nowhere, 21 Guns and Restless Heart Syndrome. First single from it, titled Know Your Enemy, is scheduled to be released in April.
21st Century Breakdown itself will hit the stores in May. It was produced by Butch Vig, who previously worked with Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins.
Green Day said that new record would be influenced by such bands as The Creation, The Who, The Beatles, Cheap Trick and The Jam.
The band’s last studio album American Idiot was released in 2004. In 2007 they recorded disk Stop Drop And Roll!!! under the name Foxboro Hot Tubs.
