Green Day devoted a song to Amy Winehouse

Green Day have composed a song in memory of Amy Winehouse. The band has already performed the track – which is titled simply Amy – during several concerts. According to their words, it tells about their impressions of the late singer.

Amy Winehouse has been found dead in her house in Camden on Saturday, July 23. The reason of her death has not been revealed yet and would not be named until results of toxicology expertise that are arriving only next month.

Green Day also revealed that they have already started the work on their next album. "We have been in jamming and writing new songs for the last few months. It felt great to play these new Green Day songs live and share our "work in progress". Stay tuned for more", says statement on their website.

Green Day released their last album 21st Century Breakdown in 2011.
