Gossip are working on a "sad" album

Gossip singer Beth Ditto revealed details about the band's next studio effort A Joyful Noise. According to her words, it will be inspired by country music. She also described upcoming record – that will be their fifth album – as "grown-up and sad".

"It sounds grown-up and sad. I love sad songs. They say so much. I love country music but even the happy songs sound really sad", claimed singer.

Gossip released their previous album Music For Men hit the stores in 2009.
