Foo Fighters to release new album in 2012

Foo Fighters – who released their last studio effort Wasting Light in April – are ready to being the work on the next album. According to the band's frontman Dave Grohl, they want to release it in 2012.

Talking about plans for the future, he said: "We're not finished yet. There are still more shows to play, more songs to write, more albums to record, for years to come. I mean if you would have told me 17 years ago that in 2012 I would be writing songs for our eighth studio album...well".

Dave Grohl added that he was surprised when Wasting Light was mentioned in Album Of The Year category in the list of Grammy Awards nominees.

"The fact that a rock and roll record, made in a garage, completely analogue to tape with no help from computers, could be a Number One album around the world, and get a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year... well... these days that's no small feat", said singer.
