Florence And The Machine accused of racism

Florence And The Machine were accused of racism after the premiere of the music video on their new single No Light, No Light. The clip shows band's singer Florence Welch persuaded by a voodoo shaman portrayed by black actor.

The website Racialicious.com – which unites several organizations fighting for the rights of black people – pointed that its messages tells about the supremacy of white ("good") people over black ("evil") people.

Racialicious message says: "Its glorifying the white female central character as representing goodness, all while vilifying the evil dark skinned heathen Other. When you imagine the number of people who were behind the storyboarding, choreographing, casting and creative direction around this video, it is slightly astounding that not one person raised concerns about how problematic this video is".
