The Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist Flea revealed that once he had an intention to leave the band. According to the musician, he wanted to follow guitarist John Frusciante, who has decided to go solo in 2008.

"I thought that if John Frusciante did go that I would definitely not want to continue the band without him. After he left, something kind of shifted in me and I found a really profound love for the The Red Hot Chili Peppers", said Flea.

Talking about relationships with new The Red Hot Chili Peppers' guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, bassist claimed: "The trickiest part of getting together with Josh for me was also the best, which is that he is completely different to John. But we managed to get along".

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are currently working on their new album I'm With You. According to Flea, it turned out to be a very "dynamic" record. He also claimed that the album would represent a number of different emotional states.

"I love our new record. I feel very excited and hopeful that the music will touch the hearts of people listening to the record and seeing it live. It's very dynamic music; it covers a real wide range of emotions and it's exciting", said Flea.
