Eminem's performance in Ireland may be canceled

Eminem's upcoming performance at the Tennent's Vital Festival in Ireland may be canceled. Local activists have addressed the authorities, asking to deny rapper from performing there, naming his negative reputation as a reason.

The decision is set to be issued next month.

An official petition, delivered to Local Council, says: "We have no issue with a family-friendly concert in a park but this is a performer who uses the crudest language – language that degrades women and has the foulest, most twisted content. The main motivation for this event is to make money, and while it is important to stimulate the economy, it shouldn't involve breaching decency".

Eminem's appearance at the festival – that takes place August 23-24 – may become rapper's first performance in Ireland ever.

Eminem is currently on tour in support of his last to date album Recovery.
