Eminem said that he would «resurrect hip-hop»
Apr 04, 2009US rapper Eminem named himself, Lil’ Wayne and T.I. as three persons who would resurrect hip-hop after a long period of decay. Rapper claimed that the genre had gone «downhill» since the release of his last studio album Encore in 2004.
«I stayed up on the music, and obviously I watch TV and saw what was going on. And without naming any names, it just felt like hip-hop was going downhill. And it seemed like kinda fast», said he.
However, in his opinion T.I.’s Paper Trail and Lil’ Wayne’s Tha Carter III helped to restore hip-hop, while his own upcoming record Relapse will finish the resurrection.
«You can appreciate Lil Wayne using different words to rhyme and actually rhyming words that you know. Or T.I. It just seems like now the craft is getting cared about more», said he.
Eminem has recently released first single from the upcoming album, titled We Made You. The disk itself will hit the stores in May.
