Eminem boxing movie was canceled
Aug 08, 2011The filming of a boxing movie Southpaw - which was set to feature Eminem playing the main role - has been canceled. No reason behind this descision was revealed, however, rumors claim that the production company was frightened by the amount of boxing movies being in production now.
The work was scheduled to begin in early 2012, with the premiere in 2013. Eminem already claimed that he was upset by this descision. "Of course, these are the bad news. This movie was set to become my comeback to the big screen since the long time. But I am sure it is not my last opportunity", said rapper.
Eminem was set to portray a famous boxer who, according to film's producer Kurt Sutter, "really hits a hard bottom, and has to fight to win back his life for his young daughter".
The movie was set to be directed by Antoine Fuqua, who is most famous for 2001's police drama Training Day.
Eminem's last to date album Recovery hit the stores in June 2010.
