Elbow started the work on the new album

Elbow revealed that they have already begun working on the songs for their next studio effort. According to the band's singer Guy Garvey, they want this album to be different from their previous records.

Guy Garvey claimed that Elbow even have been considering using some new instruments in their work – but later gave up this idea.

On the other hand, according to Garvey, they are trying to make songs in some new way: "Our drummer Richard Jupp went into the studio and recorded several different drum patterns for me. I'll go away next week and try and write lyrics for them. We've never worked this way before, but we'll see what happens".

Elbow released their previous album Build A Rocket Boys! just three months ago.
